Service Description: National Wetland Inventory (NWI) data for Minnesota provide information on the location, extent, and type of Minnesota wetlands. Natural resource managers use NWI data to improve the management, protection, and restoration of wetlands. Wetlands provide many ecological benefits including habitat for fish and wildlife, reducing floods, recharging, improving water quality, and supporting recreation.
