Service Description: The problem with SSURGO is that a detailed understanding of a complex database design is necessary to make full use of the data. The user must recognize that each soil delineation may contain multiple components with their own sets of information. Understanding what is truly going on inside of a soils polygon requires the user to summarize the information for each component, preferably based on the relative proportion of each component within the mapping unit.
